The freespots Committee was established in February 2006 to investigate how Saint John should respond to the growing need for public access to wi-fi and quickly developed the freepots strategy of a shared community promotion of an open and free service within a variety of locations in the region.  This committee functions like a “freenet” group to support and oversee the development of the standard and service, standing behind the standard and considering future options and service improvements.
