This event is designed to complement and immediately precede the Think NB ICT Showcase October 29-30, 2008.
 
The New Brunswick Innovation Forum 2008: Your Fast Track to IT Opportunities is a two-day event, October 28-29, 2008, hosted by the National Research Council Canada Institute for Information Technology NRC-IIT), Saint John Trade and Convention Centre, Saint John, New Brunswick. The event is designed to bring New Brunswick researchers, scientists, IT companies, academics and funding agencies together with an international receptor audience to encourage exchanges and create real opportunities leading to technology transfer, commercialization, collaborations and partnerships.
 
What’s the focus?
The New Brunswick Innovation Forum 2008 offers a venue for innovative companies, investors, scientists and researchers to find each other so that more New Brunswick innovations can reach the marketplace. The three themes for 2008 are:
  • Health/Life Sciences
  • Advanced Learning Technologies
  • Energy
  • Other ICT Products and Services

Who should come?
Decision-maker looking for new ideas, opportunities, cost reductions, improved quality; companies in need of financing or partners to help them bring great ideas to the marketplace; researchers looking for technology transfer opportunities or interested in promoting a new technology applications; or funding agencies looking for that next “IT” project to invest in.

Whether you want to develop technologies, collaborate, commercialize, or attract investment, the New Brunswick Innovation Forum 2008 is your innovation matchmaker. We will connect you to the people you need to meet. You’ll leave armed with the connections to take your innovation out the door into reality.
 
How does it work?
At this highly focused matchmaking event, 42 New Brunswick presenters (panellists) will offer their most innovative ideas and business opportunities to an international audience of 250 motivated receptors, who will be there specifically to hear their presentations.
 
Presenters will be looking for collaboration partners, funding, commercialization opportunities, technology transfer, or promoting technology applications, while attendees will be looking for new market opportunities, collaboration partners, IT solutions to support their business procedures, or clients for funding (VCs, etc).
Each series of presentations will be followed by a 30-minute "Meet the Panellists" networking session.
 
Panellist will have clearly marked stations equipped with a laptop computer and wireless Internet connection where interested audience members can connect with them directly.
